Un-Bleach Recipes

Laundry Pre-soak to help remove stains, deodorize and whiten items like clothing, menstrual pads, shoes, and diapers. Using a tub or bucket, add 1 ounce (2 TBSP) of Un-Bleach and soak in hot water (100 to 150˚F) for at least 30 minutes up to overnight. Wash as usual.

For extra boost, you can add more Un-Bleach in regular wash cycle (see next step).

Regular Laundry Cycle without Pre-Soak.
1 oz (2 TBSP) for light soiled
4 oz (1/2 cup) for medium soiled
8 oz (1 cup) for heavy soiled
*Do not use on wool or silk

The “Go-To” Un-Bleach Cleaning Recipes (hard-surfaces)
General Cleaning: Mix 4 oz of Un-Bleach in a gallon of warm or hot water. (1 oz per quart).
Heavy Cleaning: Mix 8 oz of Un-Bleach in a gallon of warm or hot water. (2 oz per quart)
Soaks: Mix 2 to 8 oz Un-Bleach in a gallon of hot water.
Paste: Mix 1 to 2 ounces of Un-Bleach with just enough water to make a paste.

Un-Bleach Cleaning Recipes will remain active for 5 to 6 hours, after which they should be discarded. Unused material may be poured down the drain. It will actually help clean and deodorize your disposal or toilet.

Un-Bleach Cleaning Recipes are most effective when mixed and used in warm to hot solutions (100 to 150 F)

Carpet, Couches, Upholstery, Car Seats
To de-stain & deodorize, begin by mixing the General Cleaning Recipe. Remove as much of the dirt or stain liquid as you can. Spray Un-Bleach solution on spot, work into area with a brush, and let stand 5-10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly by pouring fresh water over spot. Blot up with a clean cloth or towel. Vacuum thoroughly when 100% dry. Always test for colorfastness before applying Un-Bleach.

Carpet Cleaning Machines
Add 1 oz of Un-Bleach per gallon of warm water in the solution tank

Curtains and Sheers
To de-stain and deodorize curtains/sheers that are yellow, dingy or smoke-stained, use the Heavy Cleaning Recipe and allow items to soak 30-60 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and let dry.

Tile & Grout
Mix the General Cleaning Recipe. Saturate tiles and grout completely by pouring solution on floors or spraying/sponging on walls. For best results let it sit at least 60 minutes. Once grout is fully penetrated with Un-Bleach, scrub tiles and grout. Rinse away with clean water. Air dry. For large flooring of tiles, instead add the General Cleaning Recipe to mop water. Scrub tiles with mop. Let Un-Bleach mop solution sit for 30 minutes. Rinse away with clean water. Air dry.

Kitchen
Stained dishes, burned on-food, grimy baking sheets — add 1-2 ounces of Un-Bleach into to the container to be cleaned or into a dish soak and let sit for at least 15 minutes. Scrub away mess with hot water.

Drains - to keep your drains and disposals clear and smelling fresh add 1 ounce of Un-Bleach in 8 ounces of hot water and let solution to overnight in drain.

Refrigerator — eliminate mold, mildew, and other organic stains, mix 4 oz of Un-Bleach in a gallon of warm or hot water. (1 oz per quart). Apply with a soft cloth, let sit 10-20 minutes, then wipe and rinse thoroughly.

Cutting Boards, Tupperware, Countertops — mix a General Cleaning Recipe and apply with a soft cloth, squirt bottle or sprayer, let stand 5-10 minutes and rinse. For extra strong stains, soak item with the Un-Bleach extra strong solution for 15-20 minutes, rinse thoroughly.

Sponge soak — deodorize and remove stains in your kitchen sponge by soaking it in 1 teaspoon of Un-Bleach stirred into 2 cups of boiling water. Let the sponge sit until the water cools completely, then rinse it well and squeeze it dry.

Remove labels from jars — fill sink with hot water and add 1 ounce of Un-Bleach. Mix well before soaking jars in solution 1 hour.

Bathroom
Toilet stains — sprinkle 1-2 tablespoons of Unbleach into your toilet, wait 2 hours, and then scrub with a toilet brush and flush. For stubborn stains, leave Un-Bleach in overnight — don’t use the toilet in the meantime.

Tub & Shower — Mix the Un-Bleach Paste Recipe and scrub it on the surface with a cloth or sponge, wait 15 minutes then rinse or use.

Household
Cleaning mops — add 3 ounces to a gallon of hot water, soak overnight then rinse.

Mildew removal or to clean basement floors after water damage from flooding — add 4 ounces of Un-Bleach to a gallon of hot water, scrub surface, wait 30 minutes then rinse.

Litter box cleaning + deodorizing — spray them down with a General Cleaning Recipe, let sit for 20 minutes then rinse.

Urine, feces, or vomit stains on carpets or upholstery — add one teaspoon of Un-Bleach to 8 ounces of water, wipe onto stain, wait 10 minutes then rinse.

Blood Stains – Mix The Un-Bleach General Recipe, spray generously on mess, scrub well, let stand for at least 10 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

Fireplaces & Bricks — use a General Cleaning Recipe of Un-Bleach and apply to fireplace or bricks with a scrub brush or broom, allow to stand 10-20 minutes and rinse thoroughly with fresh water. Scrub before rinsing if necessary.

Mattress brightener — Dissolve 2 teaspoons of Un-Bleach in a spray bottle filled with 2 cups of cool water. Lightly mist mattress, but do not drench it. Wait 5 minutes before wiping it away with clean, dry cloth

Fencing, Concrete, Siding, Wood Decks, and Stucco
Use the General Cleaning mix of Un-Bleach and apply with a clean lawn sprayer. Let stand 10-30 minutes, scrub if necessary and rinse thoroughly. Or mix the General Cleaning Recipe in a bucket and apply with a broom or brush, then scrub and rinse thoroughly.

Yard
For deodorizing garbage cans — add 1/2 ounce per gallon of water and let soak.

For lawn furniture — add 2 ounces to hot water, scrub, wait 15 minutes, then rinse.

For all-weather carpeting — add 4 ounces to a gallon of warm water scrub with a stiff broom, wait 20 minutes then rinse.

Camping, Sailing, Adventuring
To clean and deodorize coolers — add 2 ounces of Un-Bleach per gallon of hot water, soak for 20 minutes, then rinse.

For boat sails, cushions, ropes, camping gear, tents, tarps, etc. — add 4 ounces of Un-Bleach per gallon of hot water soak for 30 minutes then rinse.

Water Damage Cleanup & Mildew Removal
To remove mold and mildew prior to painting or to clean up water damage — mix the Soaking Recipe, apply to surface, and scrub with a brush or sponge. Let stand 20-30 minutes and rinse thoroughly.

Wedding Dresses, and Tennis Shoes
For wedding dresses and tennis shoes
 — use warm water and begin with begin by mixing a Light Cleaning Recipe (1 to 2 ounces per gallon). Soak 10-20 minutes, rinse thoroughly with fresh water and dry.
